Resilient children and stable families are the focus of our Mission: Families initiative. With the help of community partners, we are working to create better access to resources for families, so they can more easily thrive.
Three strategy groups have convened to analyze data and create a blueprint for this work.
- Our Ready Children group is focused on making children safer and more resilient. A big initiative of this group is providing trauma-informed training where needed to service providers working with children.
- The Ready Families team is focused on family engagement. They recently developed a set of family engagement principals to guide our work and next steps include creating an implementation guide that highlights what the principles look like in action.
- Our Ready Services volunteers are busy analyzing the research data and formulating a strategy that will directly connect families with resources and is evaluating different delivery models to determine how best to move forward.
Our annual Community Impact Fund grants are now aligned with this family-centered initiative, which will help elevate this work more quickly. Other long-term strategies include engaging with policy makers and mobilizing the community to help promote these resources.
Many corporate gifts have been given in support of Mission: Families. Our generous Corporate Catalyst Donors are leading the way for families in our four counties. Mission: Families Founding Investors are individuals and families who have stepped up and made a pledge of $5,000 per year for three years, above and beyond their annual giving. Sibilla and George Boerigter pledged $25,000 to kick-off the initiative. To learn how you can contribute, contact Larry Strickland.
